Qi'er - Character Design

Qi'er is a a little spirit that appears in my short film "A Little Hope" and plays a very important role in the story. This character design was very fun for me to complete because I always felt so free when exploring it. Even when animating Qi'er in the film I really enjoyed adding it in as it was really simple but also so flexible and easy to manipulate making it really easy to animate. With its water like appearance I wanted to express how free and boundless it is!

七儿 - Qi’er
It basically means Little Seven. 七(Qi) is the character for 7 and 儿(er) is usually used to call a child or little one.
Its pronounced similar to “Cheer”
Qi’er’s design is a very simple one as I wanted it to represent purity.
